Ten Educational Apps

1. Overdrive Media Console - Allows you to download audiobooks from over 10,000 public library websites. A teacher can create reading lists for their students to access and download audio books.

2. State and Capitals Challenge - Flash card speed quiz for the United States. This app gives you either the State name and asks for the capital (3 choices) or gives an outline of a state and you identify which state it is (3 choices). This is a very motivating "game" for students to memorize their states and capitals. They can challenge themselves by trying to increase their score, or they can compete against other classmates, their parents, or anyone else.

3. Google Earth - Can be used for geography lessons to help students understand their location relative to the rest of the world.

4. USA Today - Can be used in a classroom to keep up with current events.

6. Quick Graph - Graphs equations, stores popular equations and allows students to e-mail the graph. This would be a very valuable tool for a geometry class. It would allow students to create accurate graphs.
